Scripture of the Week: You shall worship the Lord your God, and I will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you. Exodus 23:25 NRAS
Insight: God is a covenant keeping God and aren’t you glad that He is. Is it God’s will for me to walk in health? Yes it is. If He promised His covenant people good health and longevity, then He also plans for you and I today, to walk in health and experience a long, fruitful life.
As you are meditating on the scripture above, please remember that there are some expectations He was requiring of His covenant partners. God expected His people to worship Him. This was a suggestion not just for the Sabbath, but instead, a lifestyle of walking in a constant state of sincere love and devotion the only one and true God of Israel. He wanted pure fidelity. God had brought them out of a place of bondage by His miraculous powers and was leading them into the promised land. He deserved their devotion. He gave them clear instructions; to obey and things would go well for them. He would keep them in good health. He asks the same of you and I. Worship and obey. Ask yourself, “Am I a covenant keeper?”
Prayer Dear Heavenly Father, It is my desire to keep your covenant, not out of a sense of obligation, because I realize that Jesus Christ has already fulfilled my obligation, but out of a sense of love. You also brought me out of darkness and bondage and filled me with your light. Now help me to be a covenant keeper and I ask that you help me to understand that these promises are available for me today. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen
