The Stranger in my ClosetFebruary 1, 2012 I was rushing around our home in Bluffton SC unpacking boxes, directing the movers, organizing closets, and rearranging furniture several days ago when I noticed that the movers had forgotten to unwrap a bookcase in one of my closets. They had worked very hard and it had been a busy day for all of us. We were ready to see things come to a close. The movers were on the way out when I raced after the men and reported to them that one bookcase still had their blanket wrapped around it. I knew that they would need to put it on the moving van with them. A young man in the group responded quickly-Oh, I will take care of that for you. We walked back to the closet together. As he was untying the cords, he began to ask questions-So, I understand you are an author-Yes, I replied. I have written a book and am currently working on another-What else to you do? -I am also a Christian speaker. He continued probing. He wanted to know about every aspect of my work. A dear friend, Bobby, who was helping us out on the front end of the move in NC, treated him kindly and showed him great respect during the upload. He continued-I have read a lot. I have studied Hinduism, Buddhism, studied the Torah. I have an interest in all religions. I like to learn all I can. Well, that is all okay,- I said, but Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life He paused, as if he could not breath for a moment and then looked up at me with tears in his eyes. My life has not gone the way I wanted it to go. Are you ready to change? I asked. Jesus will do it for you. All you have to do is follow Him. We continued our conversation a few more moments and I asked to pray for him. That precious young man said yes to Jesus with just one line- Jesus is the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Jesus and he just needed the truth. My heart leaped for joy--- I was so elated. One more into the Kingdom of God! That young man could have been your son or mine. We have a mission? God had the plan. Will you join with me in kingdom expansion? How? Mirror Apostle Paul: 1. Serve the Lord with tears, trials and humility. 2. Do not shrink back and teach openly, the word of God. 3. Testify to repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. 4. Do not consider your life of any account as being dear to you, so that you might finish the race set before you. 5. Testify to the Gospel of the grace of God; the free gift of salvation available to all who believe and who say yes to the call. 6. Declare the whole purposes of God. 7. Watch out for false (savage wolves to draw away disciples) 8. Look for opportunities to build others up. 9. Covet nothing. 10. Tend to your own needs by working hard. 11. Help the weak. 12. Be prayerful. God is looking for workers in the field. You do not need a title, a ministry, or permission to minister. All you need is Jesus- He said, -I will make you fishers of men. even if your field happens to be in a closet. Now that is true joy. 57441 views Cynthia Cantrell (August 1, 2012)YES! Thank You Jesus! I love every bit of it! I especially have interest in the phrase number 1. Serve the Lord with tears, trials and humility. That is the only way our relationship with the Lord will work. Thank you for your dedication to the Lord. Cynthia Cantrell (August 1, 2012)YES! Thank You Jesus! I love every bit of it! I especially have interest in the phrase number 1.
